Pamela Meriwether adjusting a student in yoga class

My greatest joy in life is in helping others navigate their inner landscape to uncover the peace and happiness that is within themselves.

When I founded my yoga school, I chose the name Sakhi (सखी)—the Sanskrit word for a devoted friend—to reflect my belief that yoga is a shared journey. Here, we honor the ancient wisdom of the Sangha, or community, by walking our paths together in mutual support. At Sakhi Yoga School, you aren’t just a student; you are part of a living, inclusive tradition where practitioners of all backgrounds are welcome.

In an era where yoga is often reduced to mere physical form, at Sakhi we honor the subtle and the sacred, embracing the soul of yoga at its roots. I offer the wisdom of ancient teachings in an accessible way for our modern lives, and I invite you to move beyond the dilution of modern trends, experiencing yoga as a path to true freedom and fulfillment.

Let’s navigate the infinite journey inward together.

In our Sakhi Yoga Teacher Trainings we offer the rare combination of lineage-based depth and accessible, heart-centered community. We are not just teaching a style of movement; We are creating a modern bridge to a 5,000-year-old tradition.

My deep-dive teacher trainings and meditation programs are not just about learning or performing poses, but discovering how our practice offers us a way to navigate the journey of life. What I offer is for those who are seeking something real and authentic - a clarity of purpose and deeper connection to self.

The depth of ancient wisdom is most powerful when it’s held within a supportive community, allowing us to explore the vast landscape of the self in a way that feels safe, grounded, and deeply human.

Vishoka Meditation

Imagine a life free from pain and sorrow—infused with joy and tranquility.  The ancient yogis called this state vishoka, and insisted that we all can reach it.

The key is a precise set of meditative techniques designed to unite mind and breath and turn them inward. Each summer, I offer a virtual course to help others learn and refine their meditation practice in an elevated trajectory toward inner joy and tranquility.

Livestream Course (12 Wednesday evenings): June 3-August 26

Classes & Events

At Sakhi Yoga School, every class, workshop, and retreat is an invitation to come home to yourself.

Through skillful movement, intentional breath, and sacred connection, we create space for transformation—from the inside out. Whether you’re stepping onto the mat for the first time or deepening a lifelong practice, you’ll be supported in awakening your inner wisdom, restoring balance, and reconnecting with what truly matters.

Yoga Therapy

I offer yoga therapy as a compassionate pathway to healing the whole being—body, mind, and spirit—meeting you exactly where you are with care and deep listening.

Drawing on breath, movement, and mindful awareness, I gently guide you in releasing what no longer serves and reconnecting with your body’s innate wisdom. With guidance, yoga becomes more than a practice—it becomes a personalized healing journey of integration, resilience, and lasting well-being.
